Shawn Carney Co-Founder of 40 Days for Life Speaks at Cornell on 10/19

The Cornell Coalition for Life is proud to present 40 Days for Life co-founder Shawn Carney speaking on “Abortion and Academia” on October 19, 2010 at 7:00 PM in Goldwin Smith’s Kaufman Auditorium.

Below is a brief biography on Mr. Carney from the Ambassador Speakers’ website:

” While still in college, he raised more than $500,000 for a local pro-life advocacy organization and quickly began helping other pregnancy centers and right to life groups raise record amounts of money at fundraising banquets and conferences.

Shortly after graduating from college, at the age of 23, Shawn was named Executive Director of the Coalition for Life where he increased the income of the organization’s annual banquet from $80,000 to $312,000 in just four years.

In 2004, Shawn helped to lead the first-ever 40 Days for Life campaign in College Station, TX. This breakthrough initiative – made up of 40 days of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion, round-the-clock peaceful vigil outside a local abortion center, and grassroots door-to-door outreach – slashed local abortion numbers by 28%.

Beginning in 2007, Shawn helped to expand 40 Days for Life to 240 cities in all 50 American states, four Canadian Provinces, England, Ireland, Brazil, Peru, Australia, and New Zealand. His efforts have helped to mobilize more than 215,000 pro-life volunteers over the last two years.”

The Cornell Coalition for Life hopes to see many of you turn out for this amazing and free  presentation on “Abortion and Academia.” Don’t miss it!
